The hackaTUM is the official hackathon of the Department of Computer Science at the Technical University of Munich, taking place yearly. Over the span of 3 days, 1000 students work on coding challenges provided by the industry partners.

This year, SAP sponsored the hackaTUM 2025 as a platinum sponsor and provided a challenge, “SAP Build Anything”. 12 student teams participated in the SAP challenge. The winning team for this challenge developed ASDA, a patient-intelligence system that combines real-time voice calls with automated video-based incident detection to identify urgent events and notify nursing staff (find more information here). The second place was SAP EcoTrace, which automatically gathers, cleans, analyses, and reports ESG data from emails and invoices with minimal manual effort (find more information here).
