From 9 to 14 September 2025, the Munich Cluster for the Future of Mobility in Metropolitan Regions (MCube) took part in IAA MOBILITY as part of the Citizens Lab at Munich’s Marienplatz. IAA MOBILITY is one of the world’s leading platforms for mobility, bringing together industry, research, and the public to explore future-oriented solutions. MCube is a research and innovation network led by TUM that develops scalable concepts for sustainable mobility in metropolitan areas. A key partner of MCube is SAP, contributing to ReFuMoLab, one of MCube’s six innovation projects. It aims to improve mobility at TUM’s campus in Garching through digital and physical interventions.
During IAA Mobility, MCube presented a six-day public programme, with each day devoted to a specific topic, including self-driving vehicles, mobility services, artificial intelligence, data, and active mobility. This format combined expert panels, interactive workshops, and participatory activities aimed at reaching a wide audience - from researchers and industry representatives to policy makers and citizens. The programme was rounded by a special children's programme and evening sessions with cultural elements. Visitors had the opportunity to experience research prototypes, digital tools, and new concepts for mobility systems that are more climate-friendly and inclusive.
