On 10 June, we welcomed Prof. Dr. Yasmin Weiß to SAP Labs Munich for an Applied Research Talk on “The Skill Stack of the Future.”

In her session, she explored how AI is fundamentally reshaping labour markets and changing the skills employees need to remain relevant in the future. While many organizations and individuals already focus on developing future skills, she emphasized that too little attention is given to the concept of the “skill stack”, the combination of different abilities, experiences, and mindsets that together ensure long-term employability.

She highlighted that future readiness is not only about acquiring individual skills, but about consciously combining and connecting them. According to her, the human component remains one of the most important factors in this transformation, alongside technological capabilities. She emphasized that it is this interplay between human skills and mindset that determines how well individuals can adapt to an AI-driven work environment and remain competitive in what she described as a new form of “competition with AI,” where human and AI increasingly interact and complement each other.

Prof. Dr. Yasmin Weiß is Professor for “Future of Work with AI” at Nuremberg Tech, a Future of Work strategist, and a member of several supervisory and advisory boards, including United Internet and Accenture. She was previously a member of the German Chancellor’s Innovation Advisory Council and is widely recognized as one of the leading voices on Future of Work in the German-speaking world.
